Overview
Tadiandamol rises to 5,735 feet and is the highest peak in Kodagu district. The trek begins near Nalaknad Palace in Kakkabe and gradually climbs through dense shola forests before emerging into rolling grasslands. Unlike many Western Ghats treks, the route alternates between shaded forest sections and exposed ridgelines, keeping the scenery varied throughout the day.
The final approach becomes steeper as the trail climbs across rocky slopes to the summit. On clear days, the top offers uninterrupted views of the surrounding Brahmagiri Range, deep valleys, and the forests of Kodagu. Post-monsoon months leave the hills lush and green, while winter provides cooler temperatures and the best visibility.
Although the trek is beginner-friendly, the continuous ascent and exposed upper section require a reasonable level of fitness. Forest entry permits are mandatory, and camping is not permitted on the mountain. Starting early helps avoid afternoon mist and provides the best chance of enjoying clear summit views.
