Overview

Narasimha Parvatha lies between the Agumbe and Sringeri regions of the Western Ghats and is known for its long ridgeline trail through rich evergreen forests. The trek commonly starts from Malenahalli near Agumbe, although a crossover route to Kigga is also popular when logistics allow.

The trail begins with a steady climb through dense forests before opening into expansive grasslands. Several rolling ridges follow, with continuous ascents and descents that make the trek more demanding than the elevation suggests. Unlike shorter Western Ghats hikes, endurance becomes the biggest challenge as the distance accumulates.

The summit offers wide views of the surrounding valleys, forests, and hills of the Kudremukh landscape. During the post-monsoon season, the hills remain vibrant green, while winter brings pleasant temperatures and clearer visibility. Forest permissions are mandatory, and trekkers should start early to comfortably complete the long return journey before sunset.
