Overview

The trek starts from Mullodi, a small village near Kudremukh National Park. After completing the required forest permit formalities, the trail enters dense shola forests before opening into expansive grasslands that define the Western Ghats. The route includes several stream crossings, gradual climbs, and long ridgelines with changing views throughout the day.

The final climb to Kudremukh Peak is moderately steep but remains well-marked. From the summit, trekkers can enjoy sweeping views of rolling hills, valleys, and forests stretching across the Western Ghats. During the post-monsoon months, the landscape remains lush and green, while winter brings clearer skies and longer visibility.

Although the altitude is modest compared to Himalayan treks, the continuous ascent and humid weather can make the hike physically demanding. Kudremukh is best suited for trekkers with basic fitness who want to experience one of South India's finest mountain trails.
