Overview
This trip demonstrates the diversity of the Sahyadris, unlike other treks which target a single peak. This trek starts from Kenjalgad and moves through a ridge to Raireshwar Plateau, where wide spaces and vistas give the essence of the hills.
Next is a descent into the Jambhali Lake area through the Kamalgad area, and finally to the Madgani village. From here, the path goes through the forests and clearances of Koleshwar Plateau to descend into the Jor village area. The next step will be to climb to Mahabaleshwar Plateau.
The landscape consists of both geological formations and forest, and there are also settlements along with Maratha heritage. In monsoon conditions, the rock surfaces and slopes are slippery, and the exposed plateaus may be windy. The hike must be carried out with an experienced guide who knows about the trail and weather.
