Overview
The Harihar Fort, also known as the Harihargad, is located in the Western Ghats, Maharashtra, at about 3,676 feet (1,120 metres) above sea level. The hike is done through beautiful hills until you arrive at the unique steep stairs carved out of rocks that take you to the top of the hill. The hike allows hikers to enjoy beautiful valleys, steep ridges, and structures. The hike, despite being short, poses some challenges due to the exposed nature of the stairs.

Nirgudpada to Harihar Fort and return
Approx. 3.5 km one way from Nirgudpada; allow most of the day for the round trip. Start at the base village with a responsible adult and a qualified local trek leader. Follow the uphill trail through the surrounding hillside towards the plateau below the fort. Continue only if conditions are safe and the group is comfortable with the exposed rock staircase. Visit the summit area and historic remains if access and weather permit. Return by the same route, allowing plenty of time for the descent.
