Overview
The trek begins from Barshaini, a small village at the end of the Parvati Valley road. The trail follows the Parvati River through dense pine forests, wooden bridges, waterfalls, and small cafés before steadily climbing toward Kheerganga. Several route options merge along the way, each offering different views of the valley.
Kheerganga is best known for its natural hot water spring, where trekkers can relax after the climb. The open meadow around the campsite provides panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, making it a popular overnight destination.
Although the altitude remains below 10,000 feet, the climb is continuous and can feel demanding for beginners. The trek is suitable for first-time hikers with basic fitness and is often combined with visits to Kasol and Manikaran. Camping under the stars and soaking in the hot spring remain the defining experiences of this trek.
