Overview
Located near Sakkaregollahalli in Doddaballapur Taluk, Hulukudi Betta is one of the closest offbeat trekking destinations from Bengaluru. The trail begins near the Veerabhadra Swamy Temple and follows stone steps and rocky paths to the summit. The climb is short but includes a few steep sections that require careful footing.
The hill is known for its historical significance, with inscriptions dating back to the Ganga and Hoysala periods and temples associated with the Chola era. At the summit, trekkers can explore the Veerabhadra Swamy Temple, a Shiva temple, and a small pond while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding plains.
Most trekkers start before dawn to watch the sunrise from the top. The trail can be completed in three to four hours, making it ideal for a half-day adventure. Since there is very little shade on the upper section, carrying sufficient water and avoiding the afternoon heat is recommended.
