Overview
Dayara Bugyal begins from the village of Raithal in Uttarkashi district. The initial climb passes through oak, rhododendron, and maple forests before reaching wide alpine meadows that stretch across the mountainside. Unlike summit-focused treks, Dayara Bugyal is about spending time in open landscapes where the scenery constantly changes with the seasons.
During spring and summer, the meadows are covered with fresh grass and grazing livestock. In autumn, clear skies offer long mountain views, while winter transforms the entire plateau into a snowfield suitable for easy snow trekking. The gradual ascent and well-defined trail make it one of the best introductory Himalayan treks.
Throughout the trek, peaks such as Bandarpoonch, Black Peak (Kala Nag), Srikanth, and the Gangotri range remain visible. Comfortable daily distances, moderate altitude, and scenic campsites make Dayara Bugyal suitable for families, first-time trekkers, photographers, and anyone looking for a peaceful Himalayan experience.
