Zanskar Treks

The Chadar Trek is a journey along the frozen Zanskar River inside a Himalayan gorge in Ladakh. Historically significant for the communities in Zanskar during winters, the trek is famous for its icy terrain, steep canyon walls and the frozen Nerak waterfall. The feasibility of this trek depends upon the river-ice conditions and permissions.

Nun Peak Expedition is an intense alpine mountaineering expedition to Ladakh's Suru Valley. Mount Nun rises to about 7,135 metres and stands as the taller mountain of the twin peak massif called the Nun–Kun peaks; these peaks make up the Zanskar range. Nun Peak expedition occurs in a remote Himalayan setting, which includes glacial conditions, snow slopes, rock, and breathtaking views of the mountains. Expedition programmes tend to last for three weeks or even more. As a result of its extremely high altitude and mountaineering nature, Nun Peak requires experienced mountaineers with appropriate guidance.

It is a significant 6,153-metre peak in the Stok Range of Ladakh that lies close to Leh. It used to be a favored high-altitude mountaineering peak with its scenic mountain landscape and vistas of the Himalayan and Karakoram ranges that surrounded it. The fragile nature of the high-altitude area around the peak and worries about the decline of glaciers have resulted in restrictions on climbs of the peak. The District Leh authorities ordered the closure of this peak in December 2023, and no official notification about reopening was found while researching this peak profile.
