Overview

Patalkot Valley is a remote valley situated in Tamia area of Chhindwara district. The valley is famous for its horseshoe shape and the mountains that surround it. It has an area of about 79 square kilometres with the Doodhi River running through its terrain.

The guided gorge walk includes the walk through the valley that entails a walk along the riverside, through rugged terrain, canyon stretches, and a rock formation called Raja Khoh/Raja ki Gufa. The tour starts with the walk through Kaream and then back up to the nearby ridge. This tour involves exploration of the valley as compared to visiting a particular mountain peak.

Patalkot valley has other tribes like Bharia and Gond. People should be respectful of their culture and always ask for permission prior to taking pictures of the villagers. In addition, people should refrain from visiting sacred sites of the locals. It is necessary to have a professional guide because of changing water levels and route conditions.
